Holidaymaker's return

Monday, 6th August

I’m becoming a real telly addict. Enjoyed watching another film, “Educating Rita” on Sunday night.. Very funny and it reminded me of my own university experience, Helen came up early and helped me to finish cleaning conservatory. Discussed plans for going to London for Rory and Ian’s civil ceremony next month. Still not very confident about going, as I’m even wary of going to Edinburgh now. However, we’re going by train from Friday till Monday to a nice hotel and I know I’ll be well looked after By Helen and Al.

Margo, John Ailie and Keir arrived. Bairns brought holiday presents of a wee cat ornament and Betty Boop fridge magnet. Margo brought fudge (mmmm), and marmalade assortment. Keir delighted that lettuce he planted in pots had grown. They both wanted to make perfume, with flower petals, so managed to find dishes for them. Good fun. They’d brought loads of stuff for lunch and I didn’t have to do anything. Booked a Festival show for them produced by Margo’s former music teacher.Jonathan still away with his choir at Aberdeen International Music Festival.Just away when Bobby phoned, checking if washing machine ok. Been away fishing all weekend.

Panicked at night, when I thought my hard disk had gone forever. I was trying to put Margo’s photos in a folder and they all appeared on my desktop so couldn’t see it. Arthur said it was just behind them all and retrieved it. Wish I understood computers more. Watched a good programme about Thomas Telford and remembered John explaining how aqueducts work, but I still find the principle quite amazing.
