Thursday 17th October.
Lovely visit from Jan and the girls. They’re so cute and it’s a long time since I’ve had wee girls running round the garden. Enjoyed the chat with Jan too. Phoned Valerie later. Seems a bit better. Text from Helen. Going to see her tomorrow when she comes home. Sitting in living room with cup of tea admired the beautiful evening sky.Wish I could paint! At choir later on.We are all quite happy now, but seemingly there have been some funny rumours flying around!
Realised on way home that I had forgotten my key- again!Knew Bobby and Helen weren’t in and Arthur was away, so phoned Stuart, who was having a band practice, but came along with a whole box of keys, some very ancient, but found it at last. I was kidding him on I would have to come and stay with him and Lisa! Must get a key for Karen and Sandra and give the rest a key ring with my name on it.

Decided to strip bed and ended up washing everything in sight. Got in a right guddle. Thankfully Stephen came along later and helped make bed up.Stuart took me shopping, then brought me some of his home made soup.Looking after the old folks for their Mum and Dad. Bless them both.
Val phoned in a terrible state. Her dad’s in hospital and she seems to be at a very low ebb Tried to reassure her, and phoned again later. She now has someone staying with her but I think she needs the doctor. Helen going to see her when she comes home.
Thank goodness Rita was coming along later. She is so calm and dependable and helps me to stop worrying about everyone and everything.
Well things are gearing up on Corrie. Didn’t think I’d ever feel sorry for Carla, but it was like a Hardy moment, just when she thought she was going to find happiness with Liam, the news of Maria’s pregnancy brings her world crashing down. Off to bed early.

Seton Sands Caravan Park
Saturday, 28th June
Quiet day, but unexpected visitors. My second cousin Janette Millar from Hamilton and her husband. They were checking their caravan at Seton Sands. Had a good chat about old times when the caravan park was just lots of old huts, railway carriages etc and there was always a huge influx of visitors from the West at the "Glasgow Fair" - still is I think. Her husband is a keen gardener. Still grows all his own vegetables. Most I can muster now is some lettuce amomg the roses.Very tasty though.
Took some photos of the garden.

What a pleasant surprise to see John's pal Jimmy Ralph on the Scottish news last night and his photo in the paper today. John would have been so interested in him making the replacement "Whale's Jaws" for Berwick Law. Must phone Pat and ask if I can speak to the TV personality! Also good last week to read about Bill Bailie's M.B.E. for services to music. Very well deserved. Bill is so unassuming.
Usual Friday, shopping etc, but lovely when Kay and the boys arrived. They were very excited as they'd brought part of my birthday present. A big spotted cup and saucer (for a plant) to match the other spotty dishes in the kitchen! They were very serious about telling me how to look after it! Got them to help me water the tubs in the garden.Of course when we used the hose at the front, Robert just couldn't resist spraying all over the place! Great fun!
Choir at night. Last one for the summer. Edith had brought delicious cakes as usual.
