Kay and the boys came. Douglas desperate to tell me that a poem he wrote at school is to be published in a book! Helped with watering again, then we went to the Aroma. They loved that of course the slot machine at the shop next door too! They walked along the shore path for a bit. I met them opposite Somerfield”s. The days are past when I liked nothing better than scrambling over the rocks, especially at the Johnnie Moat, jumping into the sea, searching for unusual shells, making patterns with them or taking them to school where we were taught to make necklaces and bracelets with them. The boys fihed for podleys in the rock pools and lit fires in tin cans from debris lying around. Happy days! Nowadays our parents would be charged with neglect and I suppose the beach was much dirtier then than it is now. We’d just got in when Helen came. Asked me if I’d take our niece Karin to stay next week as she has the chance of a lift to London, so going to see Rory
