Robin and Bluetit

Wednesday, 24th September

Keir is ten today, Can't believe he's into double figures already. Remember how I found out he was on the way.Walking round the garden with Jonathan and Ailie, Jonathan said,"Mummy's got a baby in her tummy!"The funny thing was Margo was taking a video and we get a good laugh when we look at it again.

What a lovely picture this morning when I was in the garden.A robin and a bluetit playing together in the bird bath! Crept in to get my camera, but couldn’t get close enough to snap them. Must learn how to do close ups.

Well that’s the Sunday Times Literary Quiz finished for another year. We managed to answer them all, though there are two we’re not entirely happy with but Rae’s sister is going to post it off today. Then we’ll only have to wait till the lorry arrives with the ten thousand pounds worth of books!

Helen came this afternoon, so we caught up with all the news as she’s been away at Blairgowrie again. She’s going to London with Al in October and asked me if I’d like to go with them, but the way I’m feeling at the moment I don’t think I could manage.Anyway,“The Spirit is willing, but the Flesh is Weak.” We had a look at Ailie’s video and exchanged family news. Still can’t get used to seeing Helen with her white hair and wish I could lose as much weight as she has! The fat all seems to have settled in my nether regions with the result that it sticks out like a shelf!

”Oh that this too solid flesh should melt!”(I seem to be full of quotes tonight)

Finished “A Walk in the Woods” Loads of information in it.I didn’t know that many of the flowers and plants we have were brought over from America.I knew botanists went to all different countries, but didn’t realise America was one of them. I thought it was the other way round and we sent them over there. So much for the English Country Garden!
