East Lothian Life

Friday, 26th October.

Feel a lot better today. Sandra popped in to tell me that her kitten has arrived. It’s four weeks old and as it’s ginger, she’s going to call it Vincent. Told her about last Sunday’s concert in church. It was great to hear such a wonderful selection of music, ranging from Peter Antonelli playing Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata to a Beatles selection by Polwarth Brass.

Dick took me the library before shopping etc.Wanted to buy two copies of “Hox” but there were none left from last night’s launch.I’m really pleased it was a success. I’d hoped to take one to Douglas on Sunday when I go down for Robert’s birthday but Erica said that Annemarie might be in with some later and she’ll let me know. Ordered a couple of books for myself when I was in.

Hairdresser and a little shopping. Sharon showed me lovely dress she’s going to wear to a dinner tonight.Janice Scott gave me a lift home. Dick is in a hurry as he and Joyce are going to the Radisson hotel for a conference on “Huntington’s Chorea”, which is what Joyce suffers from.

Managed to put some more of his stuff back in John’s room. He had kept every copy of East Lothian Life since its start as he was one its early contributors. Had a look and decided to hang on to them. Read the ones with his articles through a blur of tears, but I’m managing to type this all right. Margo and Kay both phoned. Margo is coming on Sunday, so taking me to Kay’s. Hope we can all get in the car! It will be great to see all the bairns together.

Don’t think I’ll manage the choir. Still a bit sore after yesterday.
