Missing cat

Friday 12th October,

Another beautiful day. The grass is carpeted with leaves. I must take a photograph before they’re all blown away, though some of the trees are stiil holding on to them. In Musselburgh yesterday the cherry trees at Loretto corner are just lovely as is the red ivy on one of the houses nearer the Town Hall. Still not many bird around, just the pair of blackbirds and a robin. Here’s hoping they come back when the weather gets colder. Not much shopping, as did it yesterday but at hairdresser’s. Dick gave me a lift. Went to see Joyce . She’s very upset, as their cat, Dillon, has disappeared. They haven’t seen him for a week. Dick has put up notices all round about and Helen made up a wee letter with his picture and went round doors with it. Hope it comes back soon.

Phone call to say carpet is being fitted tomorrow, so Margaret came today instead of Wednesday to help me clean up the room after the decorator.

Call from my friend Mary from Haddington coming to see me with my other friend Cathie Next week I’ll be busy with the school being on holiday. Arthur and Catherine off to Spain. I’ll miss him.

Choir tonight - practising for harvest.Haven’t done a shoebox this year, but giving a donation towards postage etc. John used to take great pride in decorating the box beautifully for me. Phoned Sandra. She is off to Madrid tomorrow with the Kevock choir.
