Visiting and Visitors

Saturday, 27th October.

Seemed very dark when I woke this morning. Felt a bit cold, so switched on heating, filled hot water bottle and snuggled back down with a cup of tea and the Scotsman! Margo phoned. Going to “Blood Brothers” this afternoon. Arthur phoned later to say he was coming to take out the car battery to recharge it. He ran me round to Rita’s She showed me little coat set she’d knitted, complete with tiny boots and gloves -exquisite! I’m still plodding on with Robert’s balaclava!

Alex came in, asked if we wanted cup of tea or coffee. Suggested “Camp” coffee. Didn’t know it was still available! Reminds me of Granny’s when I was small and Auntie Nettie giving me a cup and a Rich Tea biscuit to dunk. Made me feel quite grown up. Always thought it was quite exotic, especially with the Indian gentleman on the label. Noticed a difference on the label now, as the Indian is no longer the servant, but is sitting enjoying a cup with the British soldier.

Alex ran me home and I was just in when Sandra arrived. with some books, she thought I might like to borrow. That’s great, as I’ve just finished “Two Caravans “ and I didn’t have much time to choose anything at the library yesterday. Just having a cup of tea, when Karen next door came over, with her wee girl Yvonne. She’s in first year at Preston Lodge and brought me a piece of lemon sponge cake she had made in Home Economics. Very sweet of her. Had a wee blether, as Karen knew Sandra from Ross High days.

Kay phoned about us coming down tomorrow. Robert is very excited.
